In addition to investigating the mechanisms of desiccation protection using in vitro experiments, our lab also uses in vivo techniques to asses how tardigrade IDPs behave and protect in human cellular systems. We are able to assess the interaction of proteins being expressed in cells using microscopy as seen in this image.
